July 15th, 2014 Letters to Gish Gallop

July 9th, 2014

OK, I get it, I get it. I really get it now. There’s only so many letters I can send via your contact form per day! You guys are at least better than Jeffy. LOL! At least you’re posting my stuff un-edited.

Do you have any ideas for more slurs and vaguely masked libel? I’m beginning to run out of them. The fat jokes only get you so far before people stop thinking you’re funny. You know what I mean?

Mr. Finkelstein

Human trafficking is serious. And your making lite [sic ~Fink] of it is not funny, it’s unproductive, and is making our community look like a bunch of idiots. Your Prostitution Ring Discovered In Hot Locked Car “article” was despicable and violated many forms of decency. Not to mention your craven attempts at cross marketing with Llamas [alpacas ~Fink].

And lastly, it appears that you are just stalking the Union for stories and re-writing them with bullshit. It’s not creative, it’s certainly not funny and you are just a mean-spirited SOB.

Have a nice day,

Mr. LaPlante

Do you have any control over your “writers.” “Writers” is in quotes because I think it’s generous to call them that. More like asswipes. Anyways, attacks on Union writers is completely off base. And it’s totally against the spirit of the 1st Amendment. You know, the Constitition?[sic] Fink’s (I mean really, “Fink?” A name?) article on Ivan’s brilliant expose on the Golden Chance Bodega is out of bounds for lampooning. I guess to lampoon something, you’d need to be funny, right? Well, you guys are not.

America haters:

I don’t get it. What’s your problem with America? You clearly are Obama-loving commies trying to take down America from the inside. Your piece on Glenn Beck and Brock Whalen, two heroes by the way, was way off the mark. But I suppose it was good because now we know you hate America.

To the Editors:

First off, I’ve taken several non-violent communication seminars here in Nevada County, so it’s important that we have this conversation in a meaningful “me” and not a you-centric way.

I was deeply concerned and offended by your article on Reiko Paine of Nevada City. It’s these kinds of stereotypes that harm the greater community. He maybe high-functioning, but we need to make sure we represent our disabled community as disabled people with special considerations. I have worked with disabled people for years, and I know what disabled people need. And they don’t need this.

You have no idea the damage you are doing by promoting vaccinations. You are killing our children with Big Pharma poisons. How dare you make fun of Lisa Fellows. There is a large community of people in Nevada County who don’t believe in this science and big government mumbo-jumbo. Wake up. Smell the coffee. Stop with the lies.

Mr. LaPlante seems to be the only adult at Gish Gallop. His Helicopter parenting article was not only funny, it was right on the mark. I hate it went we go down to the river and parents are yelling at their kids to get off the high, wet rocks. Or worse, yelling at me to pick up my toddler’s diapers. Way to go Lou! We’re fans in our house.
