Bloomington, IN— Former Republican presidential hopeful and Texas Senator Ted Cruz hinted today in Midland, Texas that he is considering forming a splinter political party called the Conservative Christian Liberty Party or CCLP. Citing his frustration with establishment GOP politics, the conservative son of  Rafael Cruz stated that he wanted to bring back what made America great: Jesus.

“We need to reclaim and restore America,” announced Senator Cruz from a stump speech to a largely Christian evangelical crowd at Clearnote Church in Bloomington, Indiana. “We need to dig deep into America’s past and restore the United States to what it once was. And that’s a Christian nation, with Christian values. These are the things that America was founded on. So if we want to make America great again as Donald Trump wants you to believe, then we need to return to Christ and become Christ’s army once again.”

Although his CCLP comments were made off the record to a Politico.com reporter, and not part of his public remarks at the Bloomington event, they have sent shock waves through the political landscape. Many have called on Cruz to clarify whether he plans on splintering the Republican party, which would surely award Hillary Clinton the presidency.

Although since his remarks Senator Cruz has avoided comment, Rafael Cruz his father and firebrand conservative preacher amplified the off-the-record remarks.

Rafael Cruz says son Senator Ted Cruz is anointed by God.

“Ted is anointed by God to help Christians in their effort to go to the marketplace and occupy the land and take dominion over it,” said the elder Cruz in an exclusive Gish Gallop telephone interview.  “This end-time transfer of wealth will relieve Christians of all financial woes, allowing true believers to ascend to a position of political and cultural power in which they can build a Christian civilization. When this Christian nation is in place or back in place, Jesus will return.”

It is unclear at the time of this writing how serious Senator Cruz is about starting a third-party, or even if he has the resources to do so.

~ The Separation Of Church And Hate: There is a good reason why Church and State must always remain separate. Let’s get something straight, right from the start: A theocratic state is not a free state, and never will be. I’m sure it was never Jesus’ intention nor was it His will that anyone should be dominated in His name, the name of Christ. That is the will of men. To be accurate, the concept in itself is anti-Christian. You can only follow Christ by choice, not by legislation. It seems some people are more intent on casting stones at… Read more »

Wow. That name alone will ensure they never see power in any political office above village or township.

This type of radical Christianity has no place going anywhere beyond the communities it has infected.
